Accident between taxi and car leaves one dead‚ 17 injured

A collision between a car and a taxi on the R33 in the Mpolweni area outside Pietermaritzburg heading towards Greytown on Saturday afternoon has left at least one person dead and about 17 other people injured. ER24 paramedics as well as various other services attended to the accident.“Sadly there was nothing that could be done for one patient. The person was declared dead.“All other patients were assessed and found to have sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.
