Police are investigating a case of malicious damage to property after 26 foreign-owned tuck shops were looted in reaction to a Pakistani national allegedly fatally stabbing a teenager at Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

The stabbing occurred at Bankhara Bodulong and the foreign shop-owner accused of killing the teen was arrested.

Mooi said that four suspects had been arrested for malicious damage to property and 50 foreign nationals had been taken to a place of safety.
