An Mpumalanga woman had a narrow escape on Wednesday morning when her car, described as a Ford Figo, caught alight outside the Nelspruit Mediclinic.

The woman‚ according to hospital staff‚ had just brought her husband to the hospital to see a doctor when the fire started.

To date‚ at least 49 Kugas have caught alight in South Africa‚ 13 of them so far this year.

Reshall Jimmy died when his Kuga caught alight while he was on holiday in the Wilderness‚ in the Western Cape in December 2015.
