On Friday afternoon‚ rescue technicians were called to Laguna Beach in Durban after lifeguards noticed a body floating in the surf.

It is understood that a 35-year-old man had gone missing while bathing earlier in the day.

Lifeguards waded into the water and managed to pull the lifeless body ashore before it was recovered and transported to the city mortuary.

Later that night‚ divers responded to Golf Course Beach in Amanzimtoti after an unidentified body washed ashore.

A man was reported to have drowned nearby on Thursday.
