The murder case against a woman and her suspected lover who are accused of allegedly killing and burying the woman's husband has been postponed for further investigation.

Fikile Mongwe‚ 36‚ and Innocent Pilusa‚ 21‚ were remanded in custody by the Moretele Magistrate’s Court in Hammanskraal on Thursday. The matter was up for bail hearing but this could not happen as the state wanted more time to conduct its investigation. The bail hearing will now be heard on March 6.

Prosecutor Elliot Motjope told the court that the matter might be transferred to the high court in Pretoria.

The two‚ who are believed to be lovers‚ allegedly killed Mongwe's husband‚ Selaelo Lekalakala‚ 61‚ at his home in Bosplaas last month and then buried him in a shallow grave about a kilometre away.

According to neighbours‚ Lekalakala‚ a government employee‚ was due to go on pension this year.

Pilusa's friend‚ who was allegedly asked by the couple to help them get rid of the body‚ reported the matter to the police. He then led the police to Lekalakala's body on January 25.
