Violent night in Lenasia leaves 2 dead‚ 8 injured - emergency service

A volley of bullets fired on a group of mourners saw two people killed and eight wounded overnight‚ according to the Saaberie Chishty Ambulance service.

The gunmen attacked the mourners at a funeral house in Tembehlihle informal settlement just after 11.30pm‚ the service said.

Medics described the scene as chaotic.

They thought there were as many as 70 cartridges on the property. Authorities are investigating.
