Mbalula vs Ntlemeza : The funniest #findingNtlemeza memes
Twitter pokes fun at the battle between Police Minister Fikile Mbalula and former Hawks boss Berning Ntlemeza with a hashtag #findingNtlemeza.
In March‚ the high court in Pretoria reviewed and set aside Ntlemeza’s appointment as head of the Hawks.
The judgment followed a high court judgment in 2015 where the court held that Ntlemeza lacked integrity and honour and had made false statements under oath.
On April 12‚ the newly appointed minister Mbalula withdrew his application for leave to appeal against the March judgment.
However‚ Ntlemeza went ahead with his application for leave to appeal and his application was dismissed with costs.
A recent court order declared Ntlemeza's appointment as head of the Hawks illegal‚ and Mbalula has demanded he vacate his office immediately.
The drama between Mbalula and Ntlemeza escalated when the sacked policeman pitched up for work, barged into a meeting and drove off in a state vehicle. Ntlemeza found himself on the wrong side of the law when he vanished with the state car and a cellphone. Mbalula has since warned police officers still loyal to General Ntlemeza and said that they are "doing illegal operations" if they still obey his orders.
Hashtags such as #findingNtlemeza have since surfaced on twitter. Here are some of the funniest memes.
