“I’m the best actor in the world.”

This self-proclaimed “actor” has been sighted across the Cape Metropole allegedly impersonating a disabled person in order to solicit donations.

At least two videos of the man have surfaced on YouTube. A TimesLIVE reader took a video of him this week begging in Constantia.

When he was confronted by the reader about his past dealings the man replied: “The past is the past.” He also noted he does now suffer from an injury.

Earlier this year a man was caught begging in Somerset West. He was arrested in February at the intersection of Spaanschemant River Road and Ladies Mile.

Wayne Dyason‚ the city's law enforcement principle inspector‚ said at the time that officers were told that the man‚ who “appeared physically disabled”‚ had been “aggressively” begging from motorists.

“He was charged with impersonating a disabled person and obstruction‚” Dyason said.
