Explosion rocks Iran military base

An explosion was reported at a military base west of Tehran, Iran on Saturday, according to the ISNA news agency.

A spokesman for the governor's office told ISNA that the blast occurred in a military base in Malard and Shahriar, located in the western part of the capital.

ISNA quoted unnamed officials as saying that explosion took place in the base's ammunition depot, belonging to the country's revolutionary guards.

It remains unclear what caused the explosion.
