Austrian firefighters rescued a three-year-old boy who had decided that a post box would make a good hiding place.

According to the report in Austria's the Local, the child's parents were visiting a residential complex in Brunn am Gebirge, when the child saw the post box and decided to climb into it.

They tried to rescue him with the help of the residents, but ended up having to call the fire brigade.

The firemen had to use a hydraulic spreader and a crowbar to open the post box and free the toddler.

They claim the child was 'incredibly brave' and greeted his rescuers with a wide smile when they opened the box.
