Seventy seven ANC leaders in KwaZulu-Natal are attending a political school in Durban, provincial secretary Sihle Zikalala says.

"The comrades have been selected to attend political school in the province to build and develop political understanding," Zikalala said.

"The curriculum offers modules in politics, financial management, human resources management and administration."

Zikala said the ANC in the province intended proposing next year that all party members wishing to be councillors be compelled to do the political training.

"It should form part of our guidelines in selecting councillors."

Councillors should be equipped for their positions, Zikala said.
