Voting in the DA's federal congress 2012 in Boksburg was completed on Sunday morning.

Voting began at 6am and lasted three hours. The party's election result will be announced at 2.30pm.

Leader Helen Zille, who remained uncontested at the election, was due to deliver the closing address at 2.50pm.

The federal chairperson post is being contested between Wilmot James and Maizole Mnqasela.

The three positions available for deputy federal chairperson are being competed for by Anchen Dreyer, Makashule Gana, Sandy Kalyan, Dianne Kohler-Barnard, Annelie Lotniet, Mmusi Maimane, Bonginkosi Madikizela, Joe McGluwa and Stevens Mokgalapa.

Uncontested for the post of chairperson of the federal council is James Selfe.

Battling for the federal council's deputy chair position are John Steenhuisen and Thomas Walters.

Hendrik Schmidt will be the chairman of the federal legal commission as he is uncontested.

Dion George and Alf Lees are competing for the position of chairperson of the federal finance committee.
