ANC labels Balindlela a 'political liability'

The ANC says it is dismayed at the claim made by the Democratic Alliance and Nosimo Balindlela that she was an NEC member of the ANC.

The ANC says Nosimo Balindlela has never been an NEC member of the ANC.

'In terms of party leadership, the furthest that she rose in leadership terms was being a regional chairperson of the ANC and the PEC of ANCWL in the Eastern Cape, and set in the PEC as an Ex-officio member by virtue of being the Premier of the Eastern Cape.'

'Secondly Nosimo has never been a member of the ANC since 2008 when she joined the Congress of the People (COPE).'

The ANC says it is misleading to associate Balindlela with the ANC as she was a Cope member before joining the DA.

'It is typical of the DA to use cheap propaganda to create hype over nothing. It is a known factor that Balindlela was the least effective Premier in the Eastern Cape hence she was recalled.'

'If there is anything that the DA has netted is a political liability that will further alienate the party in the Eastern Cape.'

Earlier DA leader Helen Zille said, 'today, on behalf of the DA, I am delighted to welcome Nosimo Balindlela into our ranks,'

Balindlela resigned her Congress of the People membership and her seat in the National Assembly.

She would sign a Democratic Alliance membership form and receive her membership card from DA Eastern Cape provincial leader, Athol Trollip.

Zille said she had known Balindlela for many years "as a person of integrity". It was clear "she is someone with the core values that will take this country forward".

Just how useless do you have to be, to be fired from the ANC. The DA must be getting desperate.

Dear ANC,
If she was so damn useless, why did you keep 'deploying' her?

In the ANC, simply being able to tie your own shoe laces, without tying the one shoe to the other, makes you worthy of deployment.

Momma. One is only really, truly useless when one leaves the ANC. But if you decide to come back, then you're OK again. It's brilliant really.

"'In terms of party leadership, the furthest that she rose in leadership terms was being a regional chairperson of the ANC..."

Only in the ANC will you find that being a regional chairperson trumps being a Premier!

"Premier = Gov Post
Regional Chair = ANC Post"

Maybe, Mahlek'ehlathini - but to get that Gov Post of Premier, you would need to be an ANC cadre?

True, but the Arguement was about the Highest office she occupied in the ANC...and that is Regional Chair. While I no longer hold any brief for the ANC (and Cope) but I think even Zille knows that Balindlela is to Politics what the other Two (other than Beyounce') Destiny's Child memebers are to RnB.

Well , we do not hear anything about Cope , other than their leader being kicked out pf Parliament. So Nosimo is right to join whatever party she wants. It's a known fact that if you leave the ANC then you are the enemy to them instead of them doing an introspection and find out what is wrong with them these days.
At least the the so-called refugees will start looking at some other party in EC and put it in power.
To Nosimo , this is a democratic country , you're free to join any party, you go girl. Show them what you're made of

A very traditional woman indeed! But however it is a worrying factor to the integrity of the ANC to see a person who was more or less the ANC herself to be defecting to a party which it is deemed to be a ''taboo'' to join, that is the evidence of both divisions within COPE and the ANC, why did not Balindlela thought of going back ''home'' like Dexter and Sello Moloto if the going got tough in COPE? This are rare sings that the ANC is slowly but surely, going down, ANC must wish the ''voters/public'' does not think like Balindlela, this is a very dangerous situation to the ANC not COPE!
A very historic and a miraculous dramatic turnaround in South African politics since the new dispensation, nobody thought the former Premier of the ANC can ever join the so called a political enemy even if it is a miracle, but it happened!
Perhaps she predicted well the party that is going to take over from the ANC in future as such by so doing positioned herself very well to make a dramatic return back into the gravy train! She hates the ANC to the extent that she could not think of going back ‘’home’’ that should ring the bell to people who thought there was no serious tribal conflicts/divisions in the ANC!
The old lady wanted something that can quench her thirst of hatred against the ANC as such so it fit to join its worst enemy! Something strong to at list ‘’ankle grab’’ the ANC, may be let me say good luck to Balindlela, I hope, she does not turn into just another empty tin like Lekota, Buthelezi and Mazibuko in Parliament!

Change is coming! The people in the ANC that wants a future for their children and grandchildren is going to walk away from the current ANC with the so-called leadership only worrying about self enrichment and hiding their corruption and indiscretions! I know I have walked away!

It takes only one small stone to start an avalanche! She does not hate the ANC she is just worried about where it is going to end with the current ANC so-called leadership! They the current ANC leaders are all out of touch with reality! All their children go to private schools and private hospitals living like the new rich on the money of the poor!

We all need a future not just the current ANC elite who are in a downward spiral and they will take us all with them!

Maybe that is what she sees and it only takes one person!
