The government’s Anti-Corruption Task Team is currently investigating 791 people for corruption, Justice Minister Jeff Radebe said on Sunday.

Of these, 92 may have acquired more than R5 million through illicit means, Radebe told a routine media briefing of the justice and security cluster.

He said statistics from the National Prosecuting Authority showed by the end of September, 228 people had been convicted for corruption-related crimes in the previous 12 months.
