Workers should be careful and not allow themselves to be separated from the African National Congress, the SACP said on Saturday.

"The only people who will benefit from that is the enemies of our cause, and not the working class," SA Communist Party general secretary Blade Nzimande told thousands of ANC supporters gathered at Mbombela Stadium, in Mpumalanga, for the unveiling of the party's election manifesto.

"The ANC needs Cosatu just as Cosatu needs the ANC... the SACP wants the ANC to be a united force."

The anticipated manifesto, to be unveiled by President Jacob Zuma, would detail what the African National Congress planned to do in the next five years.

At a gala dinner on Friday, Zuma told guests that the manifesto would indicate who they should vote for at the upcoming national elections this year.

The SACP welcomed the manifesto, Nzimande said.

The party appreciated advances made by the ANC since 1994.

"Education has been expanded and improved, over nine million children get fed at least one meal a day at school...these are the children of the working class," he said.

"Do not be fooled."

The Congress of SA Trade Unions and the SA National Civic Organisation also endorsed the manifesto.
