Thousands of Economic Freedom Fighters supporters packed the Mehlareng stadium in Tembisa on Saturday ahead of the party's manifesto launch.

The stadium was a sea of red T-shirts and berets.

The crowd was entertained by musicians while they waited for party leader Julius Malema to deliver the keynote address.

Roads leading to the stadium were cordoned off causing traffic jams.

There was heavy police presence in and around the stadium.

Some supporters were dancing and singing "a we e bona thupa [you haven't seen the whip]" while ripping and African National Congress T-shirt.
