Braam Raubenheimer, a former minister in apartheid head of state John Voster's cabinet, has died, his wife said on Thursday.

"He died of cancer on Tuesday. He was very ill and could not speak anymore," his wife Charmaine Raubenheimer said.

Raubenheimer, 93, was water affairs minister in the cabinet of former president John Voster in 1976.

He would be buried in Kroonendal, Pretoria on Saturday.

Raubenheimer is survived by his wife and five daughters.
