Narius Moloto, the former secretary general of the PAC, has been expelled, the party said on Thursday.

"The Pan Africanist Congress of Azania officially announces the expulsion of its former secretary general, Mr Narius Moloto, effective from the 1st September 2014," party president Alton Mphethi said in a statement.

Moloto denied this.

"I have not been expelled," he said.

Mphethi said a disciplinary process found Moloto guilty of embezzling PAC money. A total of R200,000 was allegedly misappropriated from the Electoral Commission of SA (IEC) and R45,000 from party structures.

Moloto denied this.

"I haven't embezzled money. In actual fact, the money of the PAC is intact."

The PAC said Moloto may appeal the ruling at its national conference in December.
