Zuma to attend summit on security situation in Great Lakes region

President Jacob Zuma is to attend a summit in Angola on Monday on the prevailing security situation in the Great Lakes region‚ the Presidency said on Sunday. Zuma will be attending the Extraordinary Summit of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) in Luanda at the invitation of Angolan President Eduardo dos Santos‚ who serves as Chairperson of the ICGLR‚ it said.South Africa has an observer status at the ICGLR.“The Extraordinary Summit is expected to consider the prevailing security situation in the Great Lakes Region‚ in particular the Democratic Republic of the Congo‚ the Central African Republic and the Republic of South Sudan‚” the Presidency said.It added that Zuma will be accompanied by Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane...
