What Thabo Mbeki looks like as Fikile Mbalula's FIFA scapegoat

Sports minister Fikile Mbalula clarified his statements that the R121-million donation was authorised by the government.

In an exclusive interview with Beeld newspaper, Mbalula said:

"Pres. Mbeki het met lede van die 2010 Wêreldbeker-toernooi se plaaslike reëlingskomitee gepraat. Die president van die land is die uitvoerende hoof van die land."

Translation:

"President Mbeki spoke to the members of the 2010 World Cup Organising Committee. The President is the executive head of the country."

He said that because of this the decision to donate the money was a governmental one.
