EFF leader Julius Malema on Tuesday warned mining companies at a huge march through the streets of Johannesburg to stop listening to the ANC.
Economic Freedom Fighters members clad in red T-shirts and caps cheered, clapped and whistled as Malema accused mining companies of theft and murder - and demanded the end of retrenchments and labour brokers.
"You must stop retrenchments and labour brokers. If you don't stop retrenchments we will take those mines and run them. Stop listening to the ANC government," said Malema, who had walked with his supporters from Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown.
He led thousands of supporters on the march to deliver a set of demands for economic freedom to the Chamber of Mines before leaving for the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in Sandton.
He also complained about sick mine workers not being compensated, and added that mining companies should help fund free education.
"You have been stealing from us for far too long," said Malema, referring to mining companies.
He said the Chamber of Mines wanted to know if they could not meet instead of march.
"We said we will not listen to you... one of your mines killed our people in Marikana."
A chamber official whose name was not immediately known accepted the memorandum and signed it.
