Recourse for residents as City of Johannesburg introduces new Ombud

The city of Johannesburg has appointed a City Ombudsman‚ Siduduzo Gumede. The office of the ombudsman‚ the first of its kind in the city‚ will investigate any alleged maladministration in municipalities and to complaints by the public who feel they have not been treated fairly by the city.Other objectives of the office are to ensure that the city provides its citizens with efficient and courteous services.The office of the ombudsman will officially open its doors on July 1 at its headquarters in Houghton but will also have representation in seven regions in the city.- The Times‚ for RDM News Wire..
