Democratic Alliance councillor Tim Denny says Mpumalanga's Govan Mbeki municipality has fixed the sinkhole in his garden.

"I received a message this morning and it has been fixed very nicely," said Denny on Thursday.

Denny said it was surprising that the Govan Mbeki local municipality waited for the media to expose the matter before they could take action.

"It shows that they do have the capacity to fix things quickly, but they just don't do it," he said.

Govan Mbeki local municipality spokesman Bheki Kubheka said proper channels should be followed to report service delivery problems.
