Zuma arrives to ‘dabbing’ at Ellis Park

The ANC’S signature election campaign dance‚ the "dab"‚ was a hit with supporters as the party’s final rally kicked off at Ellis Park Stadium on Sunday. Large groups of supporters were "dabbing" to party songs and the crowd cheered with delight as President Jacob Zuma‚ flanked by his deputy Cyril Ramaphosa‚ "dabbed" their way around the stadium.In the final countdown to the 2016 local election‚ the ANC’s campaign finale kicked off at midday‚ with the party more confident than when it battled to fill a stadium in Port Elizabeth for it’s election manifesto launch.The 62‚500-seater stadium was full but not to capacity.In the last few weeks‚ party heavyweights have intensified the campaign around the country in a last ditch effort to convince voters to stand with the ANC in its bid to retain power‚ especially in the country’s metros.After the polls close on Wednesday‚ all eyes will be on the results‚ particularly in the big cities where opposition parties have vowed to wrestle control away from the ANC especially in Tshwane‚ Nelson Mandela Bay and Johannesburg.The EFF was holding its final rally‚ also on Sunday‚ in Polokwane while the Democratic Alliance held its rally in Soweto on Saturday.At Ellis Part‚ crowds cheered as they were entertained ahead of the official start.Other stadiums across the country were set up to receive a live feed of the celebrations in Johannesburg‚ complete with big screens‚"Run Helen Zille run!!"‚ shouted head of campaigns and elections Fikile Mbalula as he welcomed supporters joining the rally from Cape Town.TMG Digital/BDlive..
