When he started to address council today‚ ANC members immediately tried to disrupt his speech. Msimanga opted to ignore his prepared speech and rather speak from "the heart" to residents of the City. "Change has come to Tshwane. During our campaign‚ which started last year‚ people told us that they were tired of nepotism and corruption‚" he said. The ANC councillors again tried to derail his speech. Msimanga told them to "learn about humility‚ and be humble".He said those residents who have been waiting for title deeds that they were on their way: "These are not just empty promises‚ these are the things we are promising to our people.“We will ensure that service delivery is delivered to our people. We want to say to our people that they will no more suffering. No more will our people suffer under the hands of the ANC. We are calling you the residents of this city to come and help us‚" said Msimanga. He urged Tshwane’s residents to join them and to work together. The new mayor promised there will be no more “blue lights” in the city and those “who used to think they are VIPs are no more … the VIPs of the city are the people of Tshwane."Those who don't want to join‚ we will drag them kicking and screaming. We will ensure that in their wards service delivery takes place‚" said Msimanga. He said everyone should be prepared because “they are going to work … [and] that from now and going forward there will never be corruption coming from the city”...
