The Inkatha Freedom Party on Tuesday issued a statement questioning whether the mayor of eThekwini knew anything about IFP members who had been killed. According to the IFP‚ while speaking at the funeral of slain SA Communist Party member Philip Dlamini on Sunday‚ Nxumalo said that an agreement existed between the SACP and the IFP‚ and also that the IFP “does not exist” in Inchanga‚ the area where Dlamini was killed. The IFP member of the eThekwini municipal executive‚ counselor Mdu Nkosi‚ challenged Nxumalo in the statement‚ saying that the IFP had a branch in Ward 4‚ in an area called Tin town‚ and was very active in Inchanga. He also said that the IFP had secured 592 votes in the area in the 2014 national election.“The Mayor said that they (the SACP) have dealt with and finished the IFP in Inchanga‚ which is very disturbing as this raises more questions about the killing of IFP members: Shuku Shangase‚ Sticksweed Ndlovu and Ruth Msomi‚ to mention the few‚” Nkosi said in the statement.“Is the statement he made a confession of the killing of our leaders and members in Inchanga?”Nkosi said the IFP wanted Nxumalo to “give us answers about our people who were killed‚ because it seems clearly he is aware”...
