EFF leader Julius Malema demonstrated that the ANC was a party on its knees during his State of the Nation debate, EFF national spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi said in an interview with News24.

"He was trying to demonstrate this is a party on its knees. There is no party anymore, it’s just supporters of [President Jacob] Zuma," Ndlozi said.

Ndlozi said Malema had diagnosed the ANC as a party no longer able to lead. Ndlozi expressed his frustration with leaders of the ANC who did not hold Zuma accountable. "Where are the brave voices? How can one man be a show? This is the point he (Malema) was demonstrating.

"Zuma says he is not going to pay back the money and the whole party sings along. Videos are played to demonstrate that a pool is not a swimming pool, but a fire pool.

"All these people... with all types of accolades they sit there supporting Zuma. Then he says he is paying and they support him again. Who are these individuals?"

Ndlozi and several other EFF MPs staged a walkout after Malema delivered his speech on Tuesday.

Malema said there were clear signs that President Jacob Zuma was incapable of being president.

"All those signs were clear that you are not capable to be a president. This is the man who knowingly had sex with an HIV-positive woman and later explained to court that a shower would lessen the chances of contracting HIV. We are now a laughing stock of the world."
