Zuma to deliver eulogy at Special Official Funeral for Stofile

President Jacob Zuma has declared a Special Official Funeral for the former minister of sport and recreation‚ the late Reverend Makhenkesi Stofile.Stofile passed away at his home in Alice‚ in the Eastern Cape‚ on Monday. Zuma has instructed that the national flag fly at half-mast at every station in the country for a week‚ starting on Thursday and running until the day of the burial of Stofile‚ August 25. The Inter-Ministerial Committee on State Funerals‚ chaired by Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe will lead the planning and execution of the Special Official Funeral‚ working with the Eastern Cape Provincial Government‚ the Presidency said in a statement. Zuma will deliver the eulogy at the funeral.Stofile‚ described as a distinguished veteran of the liberation struggle‚ became the first chief whip of the African National Congress in Parliament in 1994.He later served as premier of the Eastern Cape and became the minister of sport and recreation in the third democratic administration.Stofile served as ambassador to Germany from 2011 to December last year...
