Kasrils opposes MKMVA joining ‘Khwezi’ claims defamation suit

The R1-million defamation suit brought by former intelligence minister Ronnie Kasrils against deputy defence minister Kebby Maphatsoe has been delayed after the Umkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA) asked to join the action.When the matter was due to be heard in the high court in Pretoria on Monday‚ Kasrils’ advocate‚ Dali Mpofu SC‚ informed the court that the MKMVA had informed him it wanted to join the suit‚ a move his client objected to.The matter was postponed for a few minutes for the parties to decide on the filing of the papers for the MKMVA’s application.Both Kasrils and Maphatsoe were present in court. ..
