Despite mass protests over the painting the late kwaito star Brown Dash has beaten The Spear in Google's search rankings.

The singer, whose real name was Siphiwe Mpamile, died at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in May. His family has rejected offers to help with the funeral, telling the Sowetan ""Brown Dash was not for sale".

Remembered for his work ethic and humility, Dash had originally hit it big with the smash hit Phansi Komthumz' Welanga in 2002.

His debut album "Umthandazo Wabo Lova" won the best kwaito award at the 2005 SA Music Awards (Sama).

Though the painting of Zuma proved once and for all that even presidents aren't immune to rule 34, it failed to touch the nation in quite the same way even as the ANC and its allies marched on the Goodman Gallery.
