A farmer has been forced to turn half his herd of Nazi-engineered cows into sausages after they repeatedly tried to kill his staff, according to a report.

The cows were first bred by the German zoologists and brothers Heinz and Lutz Heck in the 1920s as part of Hitler's drive to engineer a bovine master race according to the UK Independent.

They were based on the domestic descendants of the aurochs, an extinct species of wild bull and had such muscular physiques and deadly horns that they were used as propaganda material in World War II.

Derek Gow, the only British farmer to own the breed, discovered that this didn't translate into superior docility, though they do apparently taste a bit like venison.

“The ones we had to get rid of would just attack you any chance they could. They would try to kill anyone. Dealing with that was not fun at all. They are by far and away the most aggressive animals I have ever worked with,” Gow said.

Despite having to kill half his herd, Gow says he has no regrets and that the remainder are calm and quiet.
