Pitso Mosimane will give his fringe players a run against Zimbabwe in a friendly tonight - and this might prove to be a painful exercise for the Bafana Bafana coach.

By his own admission when he named the team that played to a 1-1 draw against Ivory Coast in the Nelson Mandela Challenge at the weekend, Mosimane wants a bigger pool of players.

And fielding young players such as George Lebese, Kermit Erasmus and George Maluleka in Harare tonight was "no quick fix", said the coach.

But it is a necessary exercise.
