Mamelodi Sundowns coach Johan Neeskens says that he is not concerned about his team losing their grip on the Absa Premiership race following their second successive defeat of the week.

Sundowns lost 1-0 to Maritzburg United on Saturday in Port Elizabeth following a 2-1 reverse against Platinum Stars three days before.

However, second-placed Sundowns are still only two points behind leaders Orlando Pirates, who were unable to capitalise on the Brazilians' defeat, when they were held to a goalless draw by Wits on Saturday.

Sundowns' inability to put away lesser opponents in the second half of the season has called into question the Pretoria team's title credentials. But Neeskens believes his side will find its killer instinct in the last four matches of the season.

"If we were playing badly and not creating chances then I would be worried," he said. "But our problem has not been playing badly, but just not scoring.

"There are four games to go and anything can happen. I've said before that no team will win all of their last four matches. We just have to concentrate on winning our own games and not thinking about what the other teams are doing."

The coach said that on Saturday his players were tired from playing four matches in 10 days and struggled to lift themselves.

"Given that we had played so many games I thought that the effort by my players to try to win this game was a good one. We didn't score, and for me that was the thing that I was disappointed with in this match. Otherwise I thought we played well. That's football - we have to keep fighting."
