For sale: Iron Buck costume - perfect for the Springbok fan who loves selfies with strangers; not recommended for those with a weak bladder. Modelled after Iron Man’s armour‚ made over a month using material similar to yoga mats‚ the green-and-gold Iron Buck suit made its debut at the Springboks-Wales match in Durban in June last year. And now‚ signed by Bok stars Jannie du Plessis‚ Zane Kirchner‚ Elton Jantjies‚ JP Pieterson and others‚ the Marvel comic book character-inspired suit has gone on sale on Gumtree. This possibly inspired Gumtree marketing head Claire Cobbledick’s choice of words when she commented: “We often take time just to marvel at the things that end up on Gumtree – we’ve certainly seen it all.” Seller Lance Eggersglusz said the suit was the fruit of “a bit of research on software that makes paper flat and used the contours to shape the character's exoskeleton”.“I then used the cut out of the drawing and glued it onto bits of compressed foam I had bought from a local company. I then shaped the foam‚ painted it‚ and bit by bit it began to take shape‚” Eggersglusz said.He said he was a bit apprehensive by the reaction he creation would receive‚ but was left “stunned by the fans”.“It took my family over an hour to get to our seats‚ because of the number of selfies fans took with me‚” Eggersglusz said‚ but added: “Don't let me get started on trying to get to the toilet at half time.”The suit is currently on sale on Gumtree - with negotiable pricing...
