Clever Boys outsmart AmaTuks

Midfielder Jabulani Shongwe popped up at the far post to tap home the only goal of this tedious match between Wits and hosts University of Pretoria yesterday.Wits coach Gavin Hunt has talked about being consistent and winning the games against the smaller clubs to launch a tangible challenge for the Absa Premiership title. And it's exactly what they did, dominating the clash before finding the back of the net five minutes into the second period. Shongwe connected with Nazeer Allie's brilliant cross from the right flank to score and the Clever Boys held on for their third victory of the season, which moves them into second place. They are now level on points (nine) with leaders Ajax Cape Town. They have conceded six goals and have lost three of their four matches thus far.Tuks also had problems upfront, where they are clearly missing Geofrey Massa, who left at the end of last season to join Bloemfontein Celtic.Tuks coach Sammy Troughton will be hoping Lennox Bacela, who scored in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge at the weekend, can come in soon and bang in the goals that will help them move up the table. After three consecutive draws, Jomo Cosmos were beaten by Platinum Stars, in yesterday's other PSL game. Goals from Robert Ng'ambi and Eleazar Rodgers gave Dikwena a 2-1 win at Olen Park...
