Keegan Cooke clinches triathlon summer series title

Junior EP triathlete Keegan Cooke at just 18 years of age secured the 2015 About IT Triathlon Summer Series overall title after another outstanding performance among a star-studded field on Saturday morning in Port St Francis in the Eastern Cape. For the second year running‚ the St Francis triathlon was won by professional triathlete Clinton Gravett from East London in a time of 1hr 3min and 27sec. Stellenbosch triathlete Dylan Pivo was second in 1:04:55 with PE's Nutritech sponsored triathlete Richard Lawrie in 3rd place in 1:05:08.Cooke placed 5th overall and was the first junior home in 1:09:09.In the Ladies category PE triathlete Liza Kingston claimed her 9th consecutive Series title with her 4th win of the 2015 Series in a time of 1:16:20. Monique Janse Van Rensburg (1:16:46) was second and Antonelle Saporta (1:20:25) finished in 3rd place.Twenty-six teams took part with the local St Francis teaming of Charne De Jager‚ Charles Butler and Phil Smith winning the team category from the well-known Port Elizabeth Billson family with father Patrick teaming up with his daughters Carmel and Natalie.
