Bobby 'loving' new-look Chiefs

Bobby Motaung says he "is loving" the current Kaizer Chiefs team.Amakhosi's football manager believes coach Steve Komphela has been given something to work with as Chiefs prepare to parade a new-look squad in the 2016-17 season, after going without a trophy in 2015-16.Yesterday Chiefs added two more youngsters - striker Ryan Moon and centreback Siyabonga Ngezana - to the squad.Motaung said, along with new signings such as rightback Ramahlwe Mphahlele from Mamelodi Sundowns, and forwards Edmore Chirambadare and Mitchell Katsvairo from Zimbabwe's Chicken Inn, the additions had brought a new energy to Chiefs."I'm loving this team. I'm loving it. Since the pre-season we've been with these boys and the energy is wonderful," he said.Left-back Sibusiso Khumalo and midfielders Enocent Mkhabela, Keagan Buchanan and Zambian striker Lewis Macha, were signed on June 27.The club started the off-season by releasing 20 players - some on transfer, or others whose contracts were not renewed, as they rebuild a squad that ended fifth last season. But it was unlikely they would sign former Everton star Steven Pienaar, Motaung said."When you sign a player like Steven it is mostly with an eye on mentorship and the expectation his experience will rub off on others."We already have senior players like Shabba [Siphiwe Tshabalala] and Itu [Itumeleng Khune] here doing exactly that."Chiefs meet Orlando Pirates in the pre-season Carling Black Label Cup at FNB Stadium on Saturday.TMG Digital..
