While the Proteas sweated their way to a narrow T20 victory over Zimbabwe in Kimberley, Test batsman Ashwell Prince continued to rack up the runs for the Warriors in the Supersport series.

The lefthander scored a match-saving 123 not out against the Dolphins yesterday, his second century in as many matches after scoring 144 against the Titans in Centurion last week.

Despite valuable contributions from veteran Arno Jacobs (52) and Bevan Bennett (56), Prince's efforts looked to have been in vain as leg-spinner Imraan Tahir took 5/126 for the Dolphins at the Maritzburg Oval. Tahir, who joined the Dolphins from the Titans, got his team to within one wicket of victory.

Meanwhile the Cape Cobras climbed to second on the log after beating the Titans by seven wickets in Benoni. The Cobras' 508 in the first innings helped them build a lead of 195 thanks to a sublime 172 from 23-year-old Stiaan van Zyl.

Cobras spinner Claude Henderson took 10 wickets in the match.

The Knights and Lions drew at the Wanderers. The Knights reached 204/9 in their second innings. Reeza Hendricks scored an unbeaten 124 for the Knights, which followed 65 in the first innings, and took his team into the lead for the first time in the match. The Lions closed their first innings on 482. Hendricks was named player of the match.

The national selectors will also be pleased with the performance of first-choice spinner Paul Harris, who took 5/34 in the Knights' second innings.
