Blair Atholl Golf Estate, near Lanseria, would be the place Masters champion Charl Schwartzel would like to be the venue for next year's WGC Tournament of Hope.
South Africa was last week awarded the rights to host the fifth World Golf Championship tournament, which will see the top 70 golfers on the world rankings compete for a purse of $10-million (R68-million).
The current WGC events include the Accenture Match Play Championship, the Cadillac Championship, the Bridgestone Invitational, and the HSBC Champions. The Tournament of Hope will be only the second WGC outside the US.
The venue for the South African leg has yet to announced, but Schwartzel thinks Blair Atholl would be the ideal choice.
"Blair Atholl wouldn't be a bad venue," he said. "It's probably the longest course in South Africa. It's got fantastic facilities and it's a state-of-the-art golf course.
"Everything is in place here, but South Africa has lots of good golf courses."
Wherever the Tournament of Hope is played, it is very probable that Schwartzel will be up there on the leaderboard.
