Even if Oscar Pistorius is released before his five year imprisonment elapses, the Blade Runner will not take part in the 2016 Paralympics in Rio.

“The International Paralympics Committee's (IPC) ruling will mean Pistorius misses the 2016 Paralympics in Rio,” according to a BBC report.

“Oscar Pistorius will not be allowed to compete in International Paralympic Committee events for the duration of his five-year sentence. The 27-year-old has been jailed for five years after being convicted of culpable homicide for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

“His defence lawyer said his client was expected to serve 10 months in prison, with the rest under house arrest,” the report added.
