Is it true that you were a flyhalf when you were recruited from Eastern Province?

Yes. When Loffie (former Lions coach Eugene Eloff) recruited me I was a flyhalf/fullback.

Are you an Eastern Cape boy through and through?

Yeah, I'm from Uitenhage and I went to school at Muir College in the same town.

You've been playing fullback and wing since you got to Joburg. Do you still have ambitions to play flyhalf?

My favourite position has always been fullback. I've had a couple of chances at it this year, so I'm happy.

Which of the two back-three positions do you prefer?

Fullback. I find it easier because I've played there extensively. I feel I know it.

Why have the Lions travelled badly this season?

You won't believe this, but I think we've had a really good season. We set ourselves a goal of keeping on improving and we've stuck to our game plan. We've made mistakes that have cost us, but we're playing attractive rugby.

Who's the fastest wing in the Super 14?

Tonderai Chavhanga's always a guy to look out for in these things and Jongi Nokwe at the Cheetahs is also pretty quick. But the fastest Super 14 wing is the Reds' Rod Davies.

Which Lions player would you go to great lengths to avoid sharing a room with?

I'm not sure. I get along with pretty much all the guys in the team, I'm quite easy-going.

What's the last CD you bought?

I'm more into DVDs. I like series, I've been collecting Two and a Half Men .

Last book you read?

Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol .

Beer or spirits?

I don't drink much alcohol, so I'd probably relax with a Castle.

What do you like watching on TV after a day's training?

I've recently been introduced to Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares.

Scarlett Johansson or Paris Hilton?

Scarlett, there are no (sex) videos of her yet. There's something about her.
