THE Springbok Sevens team easily won their pool games yesterday against Hong Kong and Wales to reach the quarterfinals of the Hong Kong Sevens.

South Africa face Fiji in the last eight today, the final day of the tournament.

New Zealand play Portugal, Samoa meet Australia, and Russia, in the quarterfinals for the first time, take on England.

Two tries each from Paul Delport and Sibusiso Sithole and one for Sevens debutant Tshotsho Mbovane ensured SA topped Pool E by way of a 42-12 victory against Wales.

Earlier, the Blitzbokke - who won the US Sevens last month - defeated hosts Hong Kong 45-0. Cecil Afrika and Chris Dry each scored twice.

On Friday the Blitzbokke beat debutants Spain 33-5 in their opening game on the fifth stop of the Sevens World Series.

New Zealand and England lead the series at its halfway point on 80 points. Fiji and Samoa are joint third on 64 points and SA are fifth with 56. The series moves to Australia next weekend.
