A study by travel booking website GoEuro has found that the cost for Springbok fans to follow their team to Rugby World Cup victory would cost between R70‚763 and R333‚353. The study looked at the effects the 2015 Rugby World Cup tournament will have on the UK tourism industry.The GoEuro team researched the cost for Springbok fans to follow their team to victory‚ looking into travel‚ food‚ merchandise and accommodation expenses throughout the tournament.The findings were that category A seats for all Springbok games would cost R39‚777‚ while the cost of getting to and from host cities within the UK would be R1‚620 if travelling by bus and R4‚838 by train.The grand total to follow the Springboks throughout the Rugby World Cup tournament came to R70‚763 (budget) and R333‚353 for a no expense spared experience.GoEuro said 20 teams‚ more than 440‚000 international visitors and more than 2‚2 million locals were expected to travel across the UK‚ where 11 cities will host the tournament.“The impact on the local economies will be huge and‚ based on GoEuro’s research‚ it will be the biggest generator of tourism since the 2012 London Olympics‚” the company says on its website.
