Many people have adorned their car with a South African flag, mirror socks and perhaps another flag, but one ardent Bafana Bafana fan has 150 flags fixed to his car.

George Chauke, of Troyeville, Johannesburg, has spent R7500 on World Cup decorations for his black Jetta.

"I bought all 32 participating countries' flags and many South African flags in bulk last month," he said.

Chauke's car has a big South African flag sprawled across his bonnet, and his car's front seats are wearing Bafana Bafana shirts and hats. His dashboard is also covered in flags.

Asked if all this affects his driving, Chauke replied: "Not at all. I drive just fine."

His car gets a lot of attention. People flag him down and ask if they photograph him and the car.

He said he had such faith that Bafana would "come out tops" that he told friends that he would sell his car if Bafana lost their friendly against Thailand in Nelspruit last month.

"I was so happy when my boys won 4-0 and I kept my car," he said.

Despite being a huge soccer fan, Chauke did not have tickets to any World Cup matches.

"I didn't buy any tickets because I had been planning to watch the games at home," he said.

But pictures of his car were sent to Johannesburg radio station Highveld Stereo, which gave him four tickets to watch the USA vs Slovenia match.
