AC Milan will be without Ronaldinho and three injured defenders for Monday’s trip to Napoli (1845 GMT), the Serie A club said in a statement on Sunday.

Ronaldinho has failed to overcome a minor thigh injury and Thiago Silva, Gianluca Zambrotta and Ignazio Abate are also out.

Brazilian compatriot Robinho is set to replace Ronaldinho in attack and coach Massimiliano Allegri has so many spare options in defence that United States centre back Oguchi Onyewu still does not make the squad having failed to feature all season.

Goalkeeper Christian Abbiati is back after missing Tuesday’s Champions League defeat at Real Madrid with a knock but captain Massimo Ambrosini is still out with knee trouble.
