It's up to Knowledge Musona to decide if he wants to play in the German Bundesliga next season.

According to Kaizer Chiefs football manager, Bobby Motaung, the Amakhosi have agreed on a fee for the sale of the Zimbabwean striker to suitors Hoffenheim, who finished 11th out of 18 teams last season.

But Musona - top scorer for Chiefs and the Premier League last season, with 15 goals - has to decide if he likes Germany or not.

Motaung said the Amakhosi were applying for a visa for the striker to travel to Germany before the end of the week.

"He is not going there for trials. The German club knows what we [Chiefs] want and it has agreed to our price tag for the player," he said.

"I can't disclose the figures, but we know how much our players are valued at."

Asked if Musona was keen to join Hoffenheim, Motaung said: "He definitely wants to leave Chiefs and join the German Bundesliga team if the two parties agree on personal terms."

Musona was 19 when he joined Chiefs, but was not immediately a regular under coach Vladimir Vermezovic.

The striker, now 21, claimed a place in the Amakhosi starting XI only towards the end of his first season with the team.

Last season, Musona played 15 of 25 league matches, missing the rest because of injury and suspension.

Hoffenheim are not the only club abroad eyeing Musona.

Motaung said Scottish Premier League giant Glasgow Celtic had also approached Chiefs in an effort to strengthen their attack next season with Musona.

"There's nothing wrong with their offer, but they need to wait in line. They were the second team to put in an offer for Musona, so we have to operate using our ethics code. If the player doesn't agree terms in Germany then Celtic will get their chance. The first club to approach us for Musona needs to get a chance to convince the player to join it," Motaung said.

Chiefs have recruited Bafana's Lehlohonolo Majoro as a replacement for Musona ahead of the new season.

The Amakhosi will play in the Vodacom Challenge from July 16 to July 23, along with rivals Orlando Pirates and English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

Chiefs play Spurs on July 16 at the Peter Mokaba stadium in Polokwane and Pirates five days later at the Nelson Mandela stadium in Port Elizabeth.
