The South African women's national team went into camp in Johannesburg on Thursday, two months before the African Women's Championships (AWC) kick-off in Namibia.

The AWC will be used as qualifiers for the 2015 Fifa Women's World Cup, where the top three teams will qualify to compete on the world stage in Canada next year.

Banyana Banyana have been drawn in group B together with Algeria, Cameroon, and Ghana for the continental showpiece in October.

The women's national team is scheduled to play another international friendly match against Namibia in Durban on August 10.

"We are ready for this next challenge... and we are happy they [Namibia] have agreed to play us," Banyana coach Vera Pauw said in a statement on Friday.

"We are at a stage where we need all the matches we can get. Later this month we will be visiting a few areas around the country, while getting ready for the 2014 African Women's Championships."

Banyana will play more friendly matches in August ahead of the championship before Pauw announces her final squad to travel to Namibia.

She has called up two new players for the camp, goalkeeper Ntshetsana Mputle, who plays for Titans Ladies, and young striker Thembi Kgatlane from the University of Pretoria High Performance Centre.
