Kaizer Chiefs are set to lose out on one of their most prized assets with reports suggesting that European scouts were keeping tabs on their Bafana Bafana star defender Erick Mathoho.

According to the player's agent, Tim Sukazi, one European side is 'definitely' keen on the 24 year-old lanky centre back, as per Goal.

"There's one European team that came down to watch the Soweto Derby earlier this month, and they loved what they saw in Mathoho," Sukazi told Goal.

"And again against Polokwane City, although he came on as a late substitute, but I can confirm that they are definitely keen on him," he said.

"So, we will now wait see how he performs in the Afcon tournament next year which he we hope he will be there, and we will therefore take it from there," concluded Sukazi.

Mathoho still has a contract with AmaKhosi until June 2017 and is welcome to commence negotiations with any team that is interested in his services.
