Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony has become one of the hottest names in the January transfer window, with reports linking the star to Premier League Champions Manchester City.

The striker is on his way to the African Nations Cup, but agent Francis Kacou told Sky Sports News, as per ESPN, at the airport that: "We are in talks and we hope it will happen. There are rumours about other teams, but City are the only ones interested. There are a few minor hold-ups over money, but we are confident we can do a deal in the next few days."

Bony himself, who is also linked with a move to European Champions Real Madrid, was cagey over the deal.

Asked if there was anything to report, Bony said: "Not yet but negotiations are ongoing. It is good to hear [of City's interest]. Football is like that. But for now I want to focus on the national team."

Bony, 25, has had a wonderful season and was the top scorer in the Premier League in the calendar year of 2014 with 20 goals.
