Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo, who is away on national duty with Bafana Bafana at the African Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea, has signed a new three-year deal with the Soweto giants.

According to Goal, Khuzwayo's initial contract was set to expire at the end of June this year, but he will now remain at Naturena until 2018, as confirmed by the player's agent Tim Sukazi.

"We have finalised everything with Chiefs, and I can confirm that Brilliant has signed a new three-year deal with the club," Sukazi said.

The 24-year-old Khuzwayo grabbed his chance with both hands when Itumeleng Khune got injured over three months ago, making it difficult for Stuart Baxter to choose between him and the AmaKhosi skipper toward the end of last year.

The Umlazi-born shot-stopper can now enjoy his football knowing that his future is secured for the next three years.

And it was expected that he would renew his contract with Chiefs, more especially with the future of Khune at the club still uncertain.
